The Thirteen Original Clan Mothers: Your Sacred Path to Discovering the Gifts, Talents, and Abilities of the Feminine Through the Ancient Teachings of the Sisterhood Reviews
Love this book for the background and Native American teachings, but her prose is too heavily flowered and unnecessarily dense. Her multiple titles for the multiple roles each Clan Mother holds is at cross-purposes with the simple dignity and gift of each one, almost to the point of making the Clan Mother unrelatable in her deification of them. Love the stories of the teachings of each Mother; much more natural and relatable.
I have been eyeing this book for a long time. Finally got it. I love it. Loaded with valuable life lessons in a very interesting story telling way. EasY to keep reading. Highly recommend.
The stories of book gives you a rare insight into the Native Americans belief system and culture. I have enjoyed reading it.
Incredible writing, Smooth and loving feel from this book.. I felt the caring as each chapter progressed, And it was as if I was in the story watching it unfold. Great information. I am learning alot from this book as I read it. Learning about my family heritage just now. This has opened up the indians woman place as a mother, healer, helper, and all other aspects.. I am not done reading the book yet. So still at it. Cannot go wrong with this book.
I was so glad to find this book still available. I had a copy over 10 years ago and lost track of it. It is one of those books you can read every day, every season. We use it in my women's circle. Very healing.
must have book and we run a womens circle from it
This is one of the best books I've ever read. Every page makes me think, in a good way!
Although the book teaches us native Indian wisdom and the love of nature and in that sense it is a great book, the language in which it is written degrades the enthusiasm to read it.
