Grammar of the Edit, Third Edition Reviews
Wow. Just wow! I learned so much from this book about film. It was like taking a class in my own home.
I still haven't finished reading this book, but it's super valuable in outlining the language for editing, directing, and producing. This is not a detailed complicated book for the editor alone, instead it's a guide for the processes of editing that any director, producer, editor, actor, artist, should have some awareness of.
This book was part of the required reading for my introduction to editing class. It is phenomenal. It boils down all the major necessary points of editing into a simple, easy to understand book with illustrations that are great. This was the only book for that class and it was one of my favorite classes.
Great for first time film makers
Excellent book ! I will use this as a reference until I get this information down in my memory. I know have a basic understanding of what edits go with what shots.
Great book for my editing class.
Excellent copy and delivery.
