Landscaping With Ornamental Grasses Sunset book Reviews
This is one of my go-to books when I want to add an ornamental grass to our landscape or I want to refresh my mind on a particular grass that I've planted. Ornamental grasses are no fuss and add so much drama in all four seasons. This book has beautiful pictures and gives many great ideas on how to use grasses and mix them in with other landscaping. It also identifies grasses and the climates they're best suited for. It sits front and middle in my bookcase.
I've always loved the Sunset books so decided to add this one to my little collection of grasses books. Since I'm getting ready to plant more ornamental grasses in the garden, this is proving to be helpful. It's easy to locate information and has lots of ideas for garden design. Very happy with purchase and book arrived quickly and in great shape.
The pictures were worth the price of the book alone. I wanted to use ornamental grass because of upkeep and hardiness since I live in Texas and rain this year has been a "VERY" valuable commodity.. The author does an excellent job in illustrating and noting on grasses for certain climates, shade, sun, etc. If ornamental grass is to be part of your landscape plan than this book is worth the money
This is the great guide expected from Sunset. I'm a very skilled and knowledgable gardener but don't know much about grasses, so I found it helpful
I like this book mainly for its wealth of illustrations. Also, it covers the spectrum of grasses thoroughly and gives design ideas. As always, Sunset takes into consideration the various micro-habitats you may have within your garden, e. g., dry shade, sunny bogs. A little poetry doesn't hurt either: "Grasses in Masses."
I have recently become an avid "Grass Gardener", and this book was very helpful in planning my garden. The pictures were invaluable in helping me learn what plants work well with certain grasses, which makes your garden really standout. Soft-covered book was in great condition and arrived exactly on time.
lovely photos and illustrations; includes scientific and common names for plants; easy to understand descriptions
Replacement to a book that was damaged.
