Grand One-Hand Solos for Piano, Bk 2: 8 Elementary Pieces for Right or Left Hand Alone Reviews
My grandmother, Mere, played piano beautifully until her stroke several years ago. She occasionally still tries, but one of her hands just doesn't want to do the things the way it used, and she gets frustrated. I bought her this in hopes that she'd be able to exercise both hands independently to get some of her dexterity back. She lives with my parents, and my mother works from home. Mom tells me she's been practicing both the left and right hands, which is great. Mere says she likes being able to focus on one hand at a time, and while the tunes are a bit... weird, it's good to be able to play again. Maybe a bit juvenile for a 94 year old woman, but good practice. I wish I could have found something more for adults.
This book is perfect for when a student shows up to lessons with a broken arm. Great pieces to pick from, I'm tempted to use these songs even when students don't have an injury! The duets are great too, and make playing the pieces a lot of fun for me and my students.
This book came very handy when one of my students broke his arm. We were able to continue lessons, nevertheless. I enjoyed the teacher's duet parts. This book is a must have for days like that.
May I return this book which was not what I was expecting?
I am going to continue to use these books for my student who lost two of his fingers on his left hand. This helps him to know that he can still play the piano and be involved in piano music.
