Professional Microphone Techniques (Mix Pro Audio) Reviews
I have been recording since 1976. I have gone to sleep with Neuman, AKG, Shure, RCA ribbon, and others in my hands... This is a very well done, get to the point diagram, on how to get the best out of any microphone, with just about any instrument. Though he covers all the standard instruments (guitar, drums, et al) in exceptional detail, he even covers instruments that you will rarely encounter. And he shows all the angles of APPROPRIATE approach, with discussion as to how each approach will sound. Then, he goes beyond to talk of how it might sound in a mix.
Good reference material. Took a class from Miles-Huber...the man knows his stuff...
I am very sad this did not include a CD.. half the reason why anybody would buy this book is to listen to the examples
Saved a ton of money on this used book for class!
a good mix of old and new school mic placement techniques. not a lot of information for me personally, but a handy reference just to see how somebody else might approach a situation.
Excellent choice for learning the art of Microphone placement, and the mics themselves.
I love all the books, and in this book I have found a lot of interesting tips. I recomend it.
