Jan Kunz Watercolor Techniques: Painting Children's Portraits (Workbook 2) Reviews
When this first arrived, I was surprised to see this isn't a book, it is a folder with loose pages in it. But there's a reason for that, you can lay down each page to look at as you're painting, so it works great. I haven't had a chance to do any of the projects but I love Jan Kunz's paintings so I know she knows what she's talking about. The one thing I have noticed with a lot of portrait painters is they use certain colors for skin colors and for some reason they seem a little dark when I use them. So I have made my own recipe for skin tone colors and use those instead. I think mine are lighter and more translucent and work better for babies and children. But it's all trial and error. This is a great buy. Finding portrait instruction by Jan Kunz can be difficult so I am glad I purchased this.
For the person wanting to paint portraits...this book is a must. Jan Kunz is the go to artist for learning portrait methods and interest.
Not really needed, thought it was the book
