The Ultimate Guide to G.I. Joe 1982-1994: Identification and Price Guide, 2nd Edition Reviews
When I was a child, I grew up with "Star Wars", "Transformers" and "Master of the Universe" toys and action figures. But there was one toy line from the 1980's that was a huge part of my life and that was "G.I. Joe".
Outstanding and extremely thorough book. Covers all the figures and vehicles, common "look outs" and problems, and even the marketing ephemera from the various different years. The pricing info could stand an update, but still serves as an excellent index of relative values.
This book is simply awesome. I am not a GI Joe collector by any means. I got this for my 9 year old son who likes Gi Joes for him to look at for fun. He would lay in his bed at night with this and look at all of the figures, vehicles, etc. Looking at this book myself was quite the trip down memory lane also! Great, clear glossy color photos and well organized. We even ordered some figures off of eBay from the book that he found and liked.
Sure, there are websites out there with similar information, but you can't always take that with you. This an exhaustively researched and well put together guide of the original run of A Real American Hero toyline. Pictures are here for every single release of figures, including variants and mail-away versions. The vehicle section is the real win here with a full rundown of action features and lists of parts, including pictures of all of the easily lost "removeable" parts. The only "downside" to the book is the price guide that is not representative of current prices, but author Mark Bellomo addressees theses possible inconsistencies in the opening of the book. If you are interested in classic "Joe" then this is a must own.
These are the original classic cartoons I enjoyed watching after school as a kid. Thanks Amazon!
