Synthetic Dyes for Natural Fibers Reviews
Nice, clear information. Boiled down to what you need without lots of fluff. I keep it in the, "next to the bed," pile. Meaning it sits on a shelf of books with information I cannot live without.. The section on dye chemistry is something I really appreciate and the, "evaluating and exploring," section is nice. While there is information for the rank beginner, I'd not start with this book. I liked photos in the beginning. I wanted to compare my work. This will give you a few, but it is not photo heavy and it not meant to be so. It's information pure and simple. Lots more cotton and cellulose than anything else.
A classic. Should be on every serious dyer's bookshelf.
I recently purchased a used copy of "Synthetic Dyes Natural Fibers" by Linda Knutson (Revised Ed 1986). Don't let the publication date put you off. I bought it strictly on the advice of others, as I was unable to find any listing of the book's contents online.
This is a good basic dying book that no dyer should be without. I refer to it often and find everything in it is tried and true.
