Crazy Lace:an artistic approach to Creative Lace Knitting Reviews
I would have given it only 1/4th a star but that isn't possible. This rating is for the kindle version. The print is tiny and can't be modified to a larger size. I love this author's work and have taken her class on Crazy Lace, but unless you have a handy magnifying glass when you are reading this, I don't recommend it
Getting this book on Kindle was huge for me. The type is very small, but the cost of a used book is outrageous and this book is wonderful for creating lace that is wild and wonderful. I know you can change the type size, but never big enough. Worth wearing my granny glasses for.
This is the lace book I have been waiting for. I think it is thoughtful, useful, logical, well thought out, and inspirational as well! Sections of all the topics that a newish ( two lace shawls) lace knitter needs. Myra offers the right combination of instructions, with a mix of structured suggestions, plus a touch of "go for it" that can be such a challenge for many of us knitters used to depending on patterns. I say, "Bravo, Myra!"
Great ideas outside the normal "follow the pattern" lace knitting books. Ideas on making up your own designs as you knit - which is really what I love to do.Your garment can evolve as you work and the book guides you through colour selection, incorporating your own ideas with traditional lace knitting and explains the differences between various styles.
This book is out of print and hard-to-find, so I bit the bullet and paid the higher price for the copy I found, which was still better than the pricing on most of the copies I'd seen. It is an awesome book if you are interested in learning techniques that will free you from some of the limitations of conventional lace knitting.
This book is not a book of rote patterns, it teaches you how to design your own lace and not traditional lace.
My previous review only showed 3 stars, this was an error as this book is very inspiring, it was in great shape and arrived on time!
It is a wonderful reference for any knitter. I like the lace patterns included and clear directions. Gave my print copy to a friend, then had to get another for me!
