Published in 2009, Daniel Pambianchi's Kit Winemaking has been around for awhile, which can be a pro and a con. In the years since the book was written winemaking kits have continued to become more sophisticated, and there seem to be more of a variety of "recipe" instructions than even just a couple years ago. In addition, conical and other non-traditional fermenters exist which are not covered in Pambianchi's book. However, the basic principals and the definitions and detailed explanations that the author provides are still valid, and they go well beyond the sometimes-sketchy instructions that come with kits, even the most up-market of them. A worthwhile investment for the home kit wine maker.

Great beginner's guide to making wine. Very simple to understand and read. I bought it when my son expressed interest in learning about wine making, and he enjoyed it. Daniel Pembianchi is a solid author and has a serious depth of wine making knowledge not represented by this particular book - it is a beginner's guide.

These books contains a lot of helpful information and serves as a great reference for making wine from kits. I don't think it is required reading though.

My son-in-law is a dedicated amateur wine maker. He shares his hobby with friends. He gave his copy of this book to a beginner but soon found it had to be replaced as a ready reference. He asked me to order it for him. Paula

I've always wanted to try making wine, and a friend suggested "kit wine making". This book shows step by step instruction, and the kits make it super simple. I can't wait to get a kit for Christmas, and get started!
