Honda/Acura Engine Performance Reviews
This is a well written, easy to understand, and easy to follow technically written book. Some reviewers state the information contained within it is elementary and outdated but I strongly agree! If this book has elementary information for someone I'd lean toward that person being a seasoned import engine mechanic. For instance there a pages and pages of clearly defined calculations for determining all sorts of information that the average person would simply be left to guess at. That being said, I feel you could completely omit this section and still walk away with large amounts of detailed critical honda specific know how! Have an open mind and prepare to fill it with excellently detailed information that can instantly be used in the real world.
This is a must have for the enthusiast to to hardcore. Not everyone can know all, so I use this a reference from time to time. I enjoyed Mike kojima writimg. Packed full of tips. Expand your knowledge in the tuner world.
This book came out in 2002. The tuning world has changed drastically since then, especially Hondas. Most of the companies talked about in this book have gone out of business or no longer offer the parts talked about in this book. When this book was released it was a major milestone to make over 200 horsepower N/A with a B series engine, now it is common place to see K series engines making over 300 horsepower N/A on pump gas. For the time it was a fairly decent book, but I highly suggest saving your money at this point and just using Honda-tech.com or K20a.org for all your Honda technical questions. Just about everything in this book is obsolete.
Have not used it much. Good information but dated.
Great resource manual.
