In order to effectively communicate the artist s spirit in our paintings, it is important that we listen carefully to what Carl Purcell calls our intuitive visual brain His decidedly clear and easy to understand illustrations bring out the visual aspects of painting immediately, but bring pleasure into the painting process His bulleted lists, side bars, end of chapter summaries and instruction in between help you to understand the design process and how to use it to develop paintings that grab the eye and the heart as well Artists will learn to boost their brainpower and exile the enemy within They ll learn to trust what they see, not what they think they see and paint with their visual brain...

Painting with Your Artist's Brain: Learn to Paint What You See - Not What You Think You See Reviews
Beware: This book is part of the book Your Artist's Brain. It is there word by word, picture by picture.
I love this book. His concepts are easily understood and applied. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to try their hand at watercolor.
This was a gift purchase. Recipient very happy.
I found this book by accident, started to read it and left without buying it. I was overjoyed at finding a copy on Amazon. This book is loaded with great information, instruction and exercises. I highly recommend getting the book and practicing the exercises, you will learn more that way. I can see why he would be a good teacher. This is no "rip-off" of any other book, especially "...Right Side of the Brain." Completely different approaches to a very sometimes difficult medium! I don't think you can go wrong with this book.
Great for new and experienced artists alike.
Green grass, blue sky and white clouds. Look again and think again. This book is invaluable to get you to see that what your brain tells you is not necessarily so. It teaches you to see the colours that are really there, in fact to see like an artist sees. I would recommend this book for any struggling artist looking to produce and create realistic colours. But this book is not just for the beginner, it really does teach, but not preach, even when you thought you had seen it all. A good book to read and read over again and again.
Highly recommend for a beginning artist, ....emphasis on shape and value for a looser style.
very good benefit/price ratio excellent deal good product.Excellent book just what I expected, so far very happy with my purchase.
