The Sewing Bible for Clothes Alterations: A Step-by-step practical guide on how to alter clothes Reviews
Very detailed, thorough steps and diagrams. I have attached pictures to give you an idea of what specific alterations are included. Furthermore, some chapters, such as for letting out or taking in go even more in depth to specific situations of taking in or letting out (pictures attached for that as well). The book even gives a short explanation of how each type of clothing you wear should fit you, such as the ideal length of a jacket (proportionately to your body). This is covered for all types of clothing.
This book was out of stock for what seemed like forever. I am so happy it's finally in my library. I'm a home sewer and often find that thrifted or store bought clothing doesn't fit quite right. This book is exactly what I was looking for to start altering my clothes. There aren't a lot of them out there and this book is really great.
Altering clothing is a genre all by itself and one I have never been good at. I can sew just about anything, but alterations and I just never crossed paths. The fear of making a mistake has kept me from this realm of sewing. This book outlines in great detail everything you need to know in order to be successful at altering. Thank you Ms. Turner for this fantastic book!
This book is an excellent resource book in alterations for sewists with some experience in making clothes. I find the book to be beautifully published, with a very clear and readable font and ink. The illustrations are drawn so you can actually see step by step what the process is for a particular technique. If you are at the sewing machine with this book by your side, you can turn and glance at the book and see from a distance the words and the illustrations. The pages are of a heavy weight paper so when you open this hardcover book the pages lay flat.
This book is detailed and easy to work with. If one still has questions, you can go to her website and email her. She responds very quickly. A great purchase.
It has definitely been worth the wait. I've wanted this book for months, but it just wasn't available. I was finally able to order it about six weeks ago and received it yesterday. I couldn't be happier with it. In the years to come I'll be so thankful to have it. Thank you, Amazon!!!
Has everything you'd need to make alterations for a business and personally.
