Ready to Stitch: Flowers Reviews
Just received this book today! Couldn't wait to cruise through and see what Ms. Taylor could show me. I was very pleased! All the projects are shown with explanations regarding cloth materials to use, or stay away from, and why. All projects are shown in color pictures...close up pictures to show all the detail. She provides lists and pictures of supplies needed as a beginner. She shows details on how to stitch 13 embroidery stitches. Her book is set up to take you from simple projects to more complex projects; all with pictures that show every detail. And to top it all off, she includes a section (almost 1/3 of the book) of iron-on pattern transfers, along with a pocket in the back cover to hold the loose patterns once you've detached that page(s). According to her note, "each pattern can be used up to ten times." I am very impressed with the set up of her book and cannot wait to jump into one of her beautiful projects!
Ready to embroider and add some beading to it, too. I love this book and all the examples of each selection. Tells everything you need in the way of supplies and instructions on embroidery - I'm ready to make some gifts.
I liked this book because it delivered exactly what it promised: clear sewing instructions, nice and varied reusable patterns, and helpful tips on other practical things such as sourcing materials. Although I haven't embroidered much due to lack of time I now have new inspiration: first project is the pattern on the book's cover. I've given 5 stars but actually, for the lavender in the cover design, enlarged instructions would help beginners to place the stitches.
This book is fanastic! It is a complete handbook. Creative projects are shown in lovely photographs. Thread colors and stitches are given. Black line heat transfers are given in the back of the book. A convenient pocket is built-in into the cover so you can store your transfers once they are cut out. The flowers are beautful. This s a well thought outcraft book.
