Lighters in the Sky: The All-Time Greatest Concerts, 1960-2016 Reviews
Great book! There's a lot of behind the scenes details that you'd never know if you didn't attend the concert yourself and the authors enthusiasm jumps off the pages. The book is written chronologically so if you have to put it down it's easy to pick right up at the year you left off and it flows just like the history...
Reiff does an incredible job of picking you up and setting you down in the middle of every concert he writes about. Not only does he detail the experience itself, he provides context and circumstance behind each one. His passion for live music pours from the page and will inspire you. I definitely recommend listening to the featured artist's music while reading to fully immerse yourself in the experience. If you love music, you will love this book.
If you are a music connoisseur or someone that can appreciate the history of the best concerts over the last 56 years, this is the book for you!
This book puts you right in the venue of each concert! The realness of each and every chapter brings forth the music, the ambience, the artist! A real great collection of all time great bands/musicians! A must read!
Very well-researched and highly interesting. This is a super-fun walk down Memory Lane, with some amazing little-known facts about some of the most famous, (and some not-so-famous) live performances. The author's passion for the subject is very evident, and he creates excitement in the reader. I absolutely recommend this as a holiday gift for the music lover in your life!
